GENERAL CONCLUSION

In nutshell, this work focused on thematic study and satirical aspect in Paula fox’s The Slave Dancer. It revealed us the most ideas of the novel that have been Paula fox’s concerns. Therefore our intention in working on this topic was to get the true message that Paula fox’s narrative conveys  in using literary  approaches. Hence our most concern was to reveal to the audience satire and themes through which Paula expresses her feelings to the society.

 This paper intends to respond some questions that form the starting point of our analysis. We were inquisitive to know what is theme mean according to scholars and other researchers. What is satire in literature?  And what does satire aim at in The Slave Dancer?  Finally we happened to discover that satire in the slave dancer aims at criticizing societies using children in violent actions. We happened to understand them as main ideas that the writer makes on her comments to express her point of view.

In so doing, we resorted to documentary methodology, textual approaches psychological analytic and sociological approach that helped us to carry out this paper. This Paper is worthy important in helping its readers to guess and understand themes and satire in Paula fox’s The Slave Dancer.

 . In order to carry out our objective, we divided the work into three main notes.

The first note has been focused on review of literature on thematic study and satire. It has given the literary terms and their meanings. It has also provided readers with literary approaches and technics which are necessary for the analysis of themes and satire in a literary work.

Our second note also dealt with thematic study. It has generally developed the major themes which are found in the narrative in order to make it comprehensible. The major themes developed in this sequence were around; violence, oppression and disappointment.

Our last note, which is the third note, went on satirical aspect found in the narrative though irony and humor expressed by the characters. This chapter explained the origin of irony and humor that Paula fox used to criticize the world around her.
