GENERAL CONCLUSION

This aimed at studying the different conflicts and themes developed in Housemaid, a Tanzanian movie by Hemed Suleiman. It was successfully carried with the application of the library approach, textual approach, psychoanalytical approach, intrinsic approach and extrinsic approach. It comprises three chapters excluding the general introduction, general conclusion bibliography and the appendix

The first chapter dealt with the review of literature on conflict analysis and thematic study. It clarified the key concepts and other statements by literary critics concerning the analysis of the conflicts and themes in a work of art and showed the link between this work and the existing literature.

The second chapter was concerned with the conflict analysis in housemaid. It studied the most important conflicts that the characters undergo in the fictional world in the movie. It studied the causes, development and resolutions of each conflict. It, therefore, provided the reader with how those conflicts are overcome through the character’s actions, reactions and interactions.

The third chapter dealt with the study of the themes in a Tanzanian movie by Hemed Suleiman. It revealed the different themes through an analysis of the different characters’ actions, reactions, interactions and relationships. The central theme of the movie is love, and its related subthemes are (1) misunderstanding (2) adultery and its consequences which are: revenge and dishonor (2) mistreatment of a human being and (4) reconciliation. This research paper is neither perfect nor exhaustive. It may contain shortcomings due to my limitation in literary appreciation. It still opens doors to any other researchers who wish to conduct a research on other literary aspects such as diction, setting, etc. in this Tanzanian movie entitled Housemaid.
